We love talking about SmartyGrants and we’re happy to deliver as much training as you need. We understand that the needs of every organisation is different, and that different people learn in different ways. We are always happy to work around your needs.

Getting started

We know starting out with new software can be intimidating, so we ensure each new SmartyGrants user is given sufficient access to our support and training team and their endless knowledge of the SmartyGrants system.

For organisations with an Annual Access Fee of USD$5,600 and below, the following training is FREE, within the first 12 months of your subscription.

Self Service: Videos and Documentation

All of the material we cover in our training sessions is covered off in our SmartyGrants Help Hub documentation and videos, so it might be worth you checking whether you actually need us to deliver specific training for your organisation or whether a self service approach is more suitable. The Help Hub is free for any SmartyGrants user.

If you can’t find what you need through SmartyGrants Documentation or our Training Videos, let us know. We can either help you find where the information you need is located, or help you directly to solve your issue.

Online Workshops

We have two online workshops available, SmartyStarter and SmartyPlus, to suit your training needs. These online workshops gather together users from different organisations (within the same time zone). These trainer-led sessions walk through the features of SmartyGrants and provide participants with practical and interactive activities so that each participant leaves with a greater understanding of the core functions of SmartyGrants and how they might apply their own internal processes to the system.

Online & On-site Custom Training

Online custom training allows you to set the agenda. You can have up to twelve people attend the same workshop. This is perfect if you want to train teams in bulk or deep dive into several specific areas of SmartyGrants. Once the date and time have been coordinated by our team, a trainer will be in touch with you to run through what will be covered in the day. Our trainers are best placed to work out how long each topic will take, depending on the level of experience of the attendees. To book a custom workshop and request a tailored quote, contact our support and training team.

Here are some example formats that may be helpful to give you an idea of what our trainers can cover:

  • 1 hour (USD$200.00) Ideal for a single topic deep dive. Perhaps you have just completed your first application form and would like a trainer to review this with you, maybe you would like more information on merging contacts? You might be an experienced user who would just like to run through a complex process with a trainer.
  • 4 hours (USD$800.00) Best suited to a few different features such as form building, assessment processes, decision management etc. For sessions longer than 4 hours, we can look at booking consecutive half days to run through the online workshop outline with your entire team.

On-site custom training is available if would like to experience our high quality training program face-to-face. The same hourly costs above apply to on-site training, in addition to accommodation, meal and travel expenses. All online training sessions use Microsoft Teams. If you are not familiar with Microsoft Teams, we would encourage you to watch this video to familiarise yourself with the application. You can check that your system meets the minimum requirements here.

An online training session will be arranged as a backup delivery option for all on-site custom training session bookings. In cases where travel disruptions, illness or other circumstances prevent a face-to-face session from taking place, we can revert to online delivery if suitable.

Bookings, cancellations and refunds policy

Where a training invoice has been issued, it must be paid at least 10 business days prior to the date the training is scheduled. Online training bookings are confirmed via email to the primary contact for the booking approximately 3 business days before the scheduled training date (for online training) or approximately 7 business days prior to the date the training is scheduled (for face-to-face training).

Once training is confirmed we start incurring costs. Thus, if you find that you are unable to attend training after a workshop is confirmed:

a) Where a training invoice has been issued, no refund is available.

b) Where a voucher has been redeemed in lieu of payment, the voucher is forfeited.

c) You may nominate someone else from your organisation to attend training in your place.

All on-site training is organised alongside an online training contingency. Should the online training contingency be enacted at our request after a session is confirmed, a refund of the difference between the on-site and online training costs will be provided. Should the online training contingency be enacted at your request after a session is confirmed, a refund for recoverable costs will be provided. Please note, this might exclude accommodation and travel expenses.

Written notification of changes to training bookings, including requests for cancellations and refunds, should be sent to service@smartygrants.com.au.
